This particular video is available for $20, or you can buy the CD for $15.

Buy the recordings from the Wise Traditions 2008 conference here.

Download Dr. Lang’s notes at her website (through Dec. 7, 2008): http://restorativeendocrinology.com/

PS: The woman introducing Dr. Lang is my dear friend, Carrie Hahn, Pittsburgh WAPF chapter leader and owner of Hahn Natural Foods. Hi, Carrie! You’re on YouTube! ;-)

    Hi Anne Marie,
I am going to have to order her seminar. I’ve been looking over her site the last few days.
I am doing everything I can to rebuild my adrenals and thyroid, but still am lacking somewhere.
I had my third miscarriage last weekend.
All three have been at 5 weeks….
One good thing, my hormone levels seem to be much better.

    Hi, Paula,

I’m so very sorry to hear about your miscarriages. My heart goes out to you.

Honestly this is what I believe — it’s a blessing. Babies who are born to iodine-deficient mothers are likely to have Down’s syndrome or be retarded. As hard as it is, it’s better (I think) to be patient and get yourself healthy before you give birth.

In other words, God is protecting you and your future baby (babies). I do believe that you WILL get healthy and you WILL be able to give birth to healthy babies.

I can’t even imagine what you are going through and how hard it must be for you and your husband. These are just my thoughts and I hope you don’t take them the wrong way — or think I am overstepping in any way.

    I will pray for you.

Have you ever had your iodine levels tested?

Are you currently taking iodine? How about maca?

I have read stories of many women who have been able to get pregnant and maintain pregnancies after taking maca. Please google the words fertility and maca.

    Hugs,
    Ann Marie

Paula, I don’t know personally about the fertility claims but I will tell you that maca has totally eradicated my PMS.

My housekeeper has been having really bad cramps. She called in sick yesterday because they were so bad. I’m giving her a jar of maca for Christmas.

It’s pretty amazing — maybe you should try it — If it works for for PMS, I bet it works for fertility.

Taking Maca like a house afire :o )
Even hubby is taking it. I take, Ioderal, Maca, and Dr. Rons clo/bo.
I am going to try Dr. Langs iodine test. Looks pretty easy to do.
Plus, I choke down liver whenever I can work up the courage to do it.
Tiny bits of sugar sneak in now and then, but it is rare. Not enough to worry about.
    Yes, all in good time.
From what I understand too, is that estrogen is stored and made in fat cells, and I certainly have a few to many of those still. I think that is a factor as well.
I had lost close to 20 lbs before I got pregnant again. So, onward we go :o )
Well, I am waiting for Steve to finish up work.
We are down to one car right now, so Tuesday is busy. After dropping him off at work, I have to drive out to the farm and pick up 25 milk shares, make deliveries, and then then drive back to town to pick up Steve at the end of the day.
I am tired to say the least……

    Steve went through the roof!

    Hi Paula,

I am sooo sorry to hear what you are going through. Keep up with what you are doing. Are you eating lots of butter and eggs? How long have you been eating a traditional diet? Were you ever on the pill, anti-biotics, or any other pharmacueticals? Do you know how healthy your gut is? Any allergies or food intolerances? The gut and its good bacteria also regulate hormone levels, so if that is off in any way, you might want to consider doing GAPS for a few months.

Please keep us posted, and I will pray for you!

I was going to suggest butter and eggs too.

Christine also asks some good questions. If you have gut problems, that can cause the body to not absorb these nutrients, no matter how much you consume.

    Please do keep us posted!

    Good questions.
I have been TF for almost a year. Gut is doing perfectly.
We eat only game meats and organs, lots of eggs, butter, raw milk, etc.
Never been on the pill. Hubby and I saved ourslves for marriage ;o).
I have no allergies. Just need to keep losing weight. Have about 50 to go.

I know this is an old thread but I just had to chime in (and I also just bought three mp3′s from the conference archives – thanks for the link!!). Paula, I left you a comment on your blog, but we have very similar stories (multiple m/c’s — I’ve had four, very much into traditional foods and homesteading, etc. — my husband and I even saved ourselves for marriage — I thought we were the only ones left on earth who did that!!). I’m glad to see you’re taking Iodoral… I just started that three months ago after being diagnosed with very early-stage breast cancer in the fall (THANK GOD, it’s so early-stage that it’s not life-threatening and my doctor didn’t try to push chemo on me).

I am 100% certain that both my infertility/miscarriages and breast cancer were caused by a lifetime of eating chemicals. In my teens and early 20′s, I thought I was being healthy by drinking Slimfast for breakfast, Lean Cuisine for lunch and dinner, and Snackwells for dessert. I did the whole low-fat thing and *shudder* even did Nutrisystem just two years ago.

Then, in search for a healthy diet to help me conceive a healthy baby that would survive, I tried a raw vegan diet. I was turned off by all the fake foods they eat (“butter” and “cheese” and even elaborate “pizza” made of pureed nuts… nuts, nuts and more nuts). It dawned on me… there is nothing natural about fake foods. I knew I wanted and need to eat REAL FOOD. I actually first found out about Nourishing Traditions and the traditional foods movement by Googling “real food.”

It’s so liberating, isn’t it? If I crave bacon and eggs, I cook up some organic, antibiotic-free, uncured REAL BACON, and fry up a couple of pastured REAL EGGS in grass-fed organic REAL BUTTER. It’s utterly delicious and I feel so much healthier than I have been in years. I have an organic garden for the first time this year, and I’ve been planting blueberry, blackberry and raspberry bushes, and it feels so good to be in touch with the food I will be eating (not to mention getting outdoors and breathing fresh air and soaking in vitamin-D-giving sunshine!).
