Another video from the Weston A. Price Foundation Wise Traditions 2008 conference in San Francisco. This is the second of three parts of Sally Fallon’s fascinating lecture, “Nourishing Traditional Diets”
In this excerpt, Sally talks about why it’s important to soak grains, seeds and nuts and why this was done all over the world in traditional cultures.
These foods contain enzyme inhibitors and block proper digestion and absorption of nutrients and they must be soaked in a warm acidic solution in order to make them more digestible and make the nutrients available to be absorbed.
She also goes over some of the problems with eating soy, which is added to most processed foods.
You can buy the videos, CDs or mp3 recordings from the Weston A. Price Foundation website. The complete conference on mp3 is only $169 (that’s what I bought last year — and LOVED it! I had lectures to listen to when I was doing dishes or running errands for 2 months.) You can also buy individual recordings for only $15.
