It's rotten. And they're doing the same thing to public school students too.

Of course, the motivation is always money. Unfortunately, I am pretty pessimistic that there going to be any changes at this point. In this economy, wars, and everything else going on, prisoners are not going to be high on the priority list.

i mean if one class, i was even shunned for purposing that the snack industry replace trans fat partially hydrongentated oils and veggie oils with butter, palm or coconut oils. aparently soy oil is our savior, and butter must be restricted to a guilty pleasure....

hey agian,

its ticks me off when my poltically correct nutrition class trys to teach the students that soy milk or tofu is as healthy, if not better than, whole milk ( granted even organic whole milk is a step better than soy milk, raw or not)
also, they preach how skim milk is a valuble source of good nutrition and dense nutrients. ugh.. i cringe my teeth...
its almost like the offical dogma of the times... saturated fat is bad, milk is bad, butter and cheese causes illness. but when you step back and look at how things really really really are. i mean good quiality butter can supply 10 percent of vitamin A ( through retinol, highly absorbable) and when combine with a few sources of fatty oils such as cod liver, etc... You get all you need. Adding some good veggies and prepared grains and your good to go.

ugh, sorry about the rant, but im fed up with suffering through 2 years of nutrition classes with faulty backing.
