It’s that time again — the Real Food Wednesday blog carnival. And today’s my mother’s birthday. Happy birthday, Mom!

Welcome to Real Food Wednesday!

Today Kelly the Kitchen Kop and I are both hosting a giveaway. Zukay is giving away a case of their new raw, enzyme-rich lacto-fermented salad dressings. They are delicious and so good for you! Unfortunately you can only enter on ONE of our sites — but there will be 4 winners — so go enter on CHEESESLAVE or on Kelly the Kitchen Kop.

And don’t forget — Kelly is hosting Real Food Wednesday next week!

Hello! My contribution is a Probiotic Potato Salad – where the dressing is made from herbed up kefir cheese.

  4. This week I have a basic, lower-fat vinaigrette that can easily be varied with lots of different flavors. I don’t like no-fat. It just doesn’t do it for me. But, full of flavor and lower fat works beautifully.

    Thanks for hosting!!

You know how sometimes you feel like a nut? And sometimes you don’t? Or sometimes you feel like a deep, dark chocolate treat chock full of healthy fat and in season vegetables? VEGETABLES? Yup, come take a look!

My post is about a physician who used raw milk, a real food, to heal chronic disease. I have included some autobiographical information towards the end of the post about my experience on a modified raw milk regime.

Thanks to tip from Kristen @ Food Renegade, I would like to take this opportunity today to introduce The Dinner Garden, a San Antonio non-profit whose goal is to end hunger by providing vegetable seeds, gardening supplies and growing advice free-of-charge to needy families across the country.

Did you know that as much as 280 pounds of tomatoes can be grown from just 7 seeds?

I’ve written about how we use all the milk we get….just to give you a small farm perspective and encourage those that might be a bit intimidated about getting their own cow.

It also might get more folks looking for small dairy producers…..to get a bigger variety of yummy dairy products!

    Thanks for hosting, A.M.!

Please everybody, drop everything and call your Congressman, the most Orwellian legislation ever introduced is about to pass today. It threatens raw milk access as it will give the FDA more power and control under the guise of food safety. Only YOUR CALL can let the Congress know that this bill, while it may have broad bi-partisan support, it is NOT POPULAR with the people.

My post on Bill Wolcott and the Metabolic Diet discusses individual differences in dietary needs. If you are eating whole, nutritious, local food and still struggling with health issues, you may not be eating right for your metabolic type. Listen to the interview podcast to hear Bill’s enthusiasm for this interesting topic.

So excited to be here! Of course, in my un-caffeinated morning stumble around the internet, I realized I put MY name instead of the name of my post… sheesh… anyway – I blogged about smart, quick, easy snacks to curb that 3:00 PM craving. They’re easy-peasy and about 99% raw.
