Today’s the last day of the Weston A. Price Foundation 2009 Conference. It has been AWESOME! I’ve met so many wonderful people — farmers and foodies and activist heroes and geniuses. I got a million lovely hugs, and sampled the most fabulous food. At the end of this amazing weekend, I am moved and completely inspired.
Do whatever you can to attend the conference in Pennsylvania (Amish Country!) next year. It’s truly my favorite thing all year (yes, even better than Christmas or my birthday). In fact, if money is tight, start filling that piggy bank. You don’t want to miss it.
I only have a few minutes to write a quick blog post before I go for a quick swim in the saltwater pool and then run to the all-day Chapter Leader’s meeting. Then I catch a plane back home.
Just wanted to quickly share a few photos. The one above is of me and my dear friend, Kelly the Kitchen Kop. (Can you tell my lips are stained from wine? That was after our fabulous dinner at the Bristol.)
Here’s me with Annette Fischer of Wilderness Family Naturals (her husband Ken took this photo — isn’t it a good one?):
We bought lard potato chips from the Amish (Amos Miller’s farm):
These are some of the best chips I’ve ever had. I guess the ones Amos used to make but not organic — but he’s making them himself now and they are organic.
Here are some of the bloggers in the hotel lobby, working on posts and tweeting and Facebooking:
That’s Alex of Feed Me Like You Mean It, Kelly the Kitchen Kop, Kimi from The Nourishing Gourmet and Jenny from Nourished Kitchen.
I have so much more to write, plus a ton of photos, and the Real Food Media blogs will also be posting lots of video clips. Stay tuned!

Ann Marie,
I want to let you know how appreciative I am to all of you who have been tweeting, blogging, and posting facebook updates all weekend. It was the next best thing to being there!
You look amazing in your photos, truly radiant!
Next year in Pennsylvania? I’ve already told hubby that we are taking a roadtrip! You will be seeing me there next year! I won’t be able to go by myself as I’ll still be nursing baby girl, but she will be old enough to leave her with daddy and the other kids all day while I enjoy the conference. I’m going to get started on applying for our passports (5 of them!) in the new year.

That is so cool! I have loved reading blog posts and tweets about the conference. Hubby’s family is in PA, this looks like it could possibly happen next year! We’ll let them think it’s all because of them, not because of the conference

Yea, PA! My dad lives there so it will be the perfect opportunity for me to go to the conference and go back East for our annual family visit.
I can’t wait to read all you’ve heard! I’m following you, Kimi and Kelly daily.
I jealously thought about it all weekend–wishing I was there.

Hi – I stopped by your booth several times and either you were gone, or you were talking to someone. I really enjoyed the conference – learned so much! Can’t wait for next year! I went by myself but kept running into the same people over and over. Small world.

Is there a website for Amos Miller’s Farm?

It has been so fun to see these updates and posts. I especially like the pictures. From the pics I’ve seen it looks like the WAPF conf was filled with some of the most beautiful, radiant, and healthy looking people. In every picture I’ve seen everyone looks amazing… What great testaments to the value of a healthy, traditional diet!

I don’t think that Amos Miller has a website as they are Amish. However, AnnMarie was right, I got a bag of those homemade chips and they were awesome. I was excited to buy some lard from Mr. Miller!!
The conference is near Philadelphia, PA in King of Prussia, PA at the Valley Forge Conference Center, I hope I can convince hubby to go!!

Hey there! It was great to finally meet you at the conference. I had an awesome time and learned so much. It was some of the BEST food I’ve eaten (and didn’t have to cook myself), and I loved connecting with so many like-minded folks. I can’t wait to wear my Butter was Framed t-shirt. I’ll let you know how people react. Should be amusing.

Ann Marie,
I was wondering if the Legal Defense Team was selling t-shirts again this year and what the sayings on them were? I definitely want to get one of your Butter Was Framed t-shirts though!

I already have next year on my calendar and hopefully I will get there (maybe even with my husband so he can see that real food tastes GREAT!!!)

type in http://www.millersorganicfarm.com (no apostrophy) It will take to to a food buying club in Miami area but on the home page is a letter from Amos. He explains how he got started with WAPF.
You can, also see the products, etc. that are available from his farm.
Next year my goal is to go to the conference!
I enjoy the news and excitement at Cheeseslave!
