Welcome to Real Food Wednesday!

Kelly’s post this week is about Fats and Low-Carb Diets with Jimmy Moore and Dr. Andrew Weil. I love Jimmy Moore!

My post is a link to my podcast (internet radio) interview with Matt Stone, traditional food blogger at 180 Degree Health. We talked about omega 3s and omega 6s, extreme paleo diets, thyroid health, metabolism and weight loss, and various other stuff related to nutrition and traditional food.

While you’re at it, go check out the two giveaways Kelly is currently running on her blog:

Enter to win fermented cod liver oil from GAPSDiet.com

Enter to win organic grass-fed ghee from Pure Indian Foods

And don’t forget — Kelly is hosting Real Food Wednesday next week!

Please share your posts about healthy, real food below.

Happy RFW, everyone. I’m sharing a recipe which came about because I’ve been cleaning out the freezer and pantry – a butternut squash soup accented with green chiles, and topped with a crispy pumpkin seed garnish.

  2. My post this week is a heart-breaking “Cellulite Story” from a vegetarian woman living in Germany. I’ve been emailing her more about her vegetarian philosophy and hopefully we’ll figure out a way to add more nutrient-dense food to her diet.

This week I’m sharing health benefits of 16 herbs and spices you should be including in you meal plans even for your youngest eaters. You’ll want to add fresh herbs, most of which have either antibacterial or antiviral properties to home – made baby food and the family meal after reading this article. Thanks for hosting!

My post this week shows how our family slowly transitioned from Froot Loops and Sunny D Smoothies to our healthier way of eating now. I didn’t realize all the baby steps we took until I wrote it all out!

I wrote about resources I give people who want to learn more about Real Food. Since people are very busy, I’ve chosen 2 books, 2 movies, 2 blogs (including this one!) and 2 websites people can use to get started learning about the way I try to eat!

Thanks for hosting! I’m sharing the recipe for an amazing, quick to put together salad — Indonesian tofu, bean sprout, and cucumber salad with spicy peanut dressing. It’s made with roasted tofu, but if you’re a meat-eater, I’m told it’s awesome with chicken instead. Also vegan and gluten-free!

We’re having a Real Food Challenge for the whole month of March on one of the blogs I write for. So great to encourage people to eat real food instead of the fake stuff that comes in a plastic package.
