Never before has there been an opportunity to get GMOs wiped off the face of our American landscape. This is historic, folks!
We finally get a chance to vote on labeling GMOs here in California this November.
By voting YES on Proposition 37, we are voting for the right to know what is in our food.
In the words of the Cornucopia Institute, as goes California, so goes the nation. If food manufactures have to create new labels for California, most likely they’re going to roll them out nationwide.
They really don’t want to have to label GMOs — because they know that if they do, people won’t want to buy their products. They’ll have to either spend more and go organic, or face losing sales.
Which is why our opposition has raised $28 MILLION (compared to our $4 million) to convince voters that they should vote no on Prop 37. We need to raise funds so we can educate voters.

I was just talking about this over on Dr. Mercola’s website today. AM, as a Californian, do you feel like you are hearing enough about prop 37? I live in northern San Diego and I never hear a thing. I get the LA stations and the LA times, but I just never hear anything about it. I try to talk to people in stores about it, but people are still so clueless. One lady told me the government would NEVER allow a corporation to hurt us!!
People just don’t know what Monsanto is doing! So, the point of my ramble is this: We needs signs, posters and buttons. My husband and I would both gladly put a sign on the car. I’m even thinking of letting my daughter and her friends decorate my car windows with the message. Maybe to inspire fellow CA residents, you could have a photo contest of who decorated their car the best with the prop 37 message!! People love prizes and think how many other folks would see the message while we drive around town!
I also plan to talk to my health food store and ask the owner why it is she hasn’t decorated her store with the message. They have put one tiny “No to GMO” on their monthly ad, but as my old boss used to say that is about as effective as fertilizing a field with a fart!
We need to get creative about getting this message out there!
Great ideas!
I had the opportunity to talk to my sister-in-law’s sister, who was visiting from Ca. I asked her if she knew about the GMO labeling. She didn’t. I told her how important it is for her to vote yes. I am hoping since I mentioned it she will find out more about it. It does make me wonder how many people in Ca know about it and care.
California, the rest of the country is counting on you!!
Get cracking and get creative about getting the word out about this.
If the above two comments are any indication, we need to turn up the heat on this issue.
@Beth
