Giveaway: Enter to Win Kelly the Kitchen Kop’s Real Food for Rookies Class

This giveaway is now closed! Thanks for participating.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that one of my favorite real food blogger friends is Kelly the Kitchen Kop. Kelly and I started blogging around the same time almost three years ago.

Kelly and I have shared so much over the years as friends. Although she is in Michigan, we email and talk on the phone a lot, and she has come out to visit me a couple of times here in LA. I even got her to eat raw oysters and sushi (which she swore she would NEVER eat and now she loves it)! Check out this picture of us reading the Weston A. Price Foundation quarterly newsletter on the beach (I know, what nerds!):

Discovering Real Food

It was really hard for me when I became a new mother in 2007 and discovered real food. When I was just starting out, I felt all alone and didn’t know who to call to ask for advice — like what kind of butter to buy, how to buy a chest freezer to store half a cow, how many cod liver oil capsules to take and did I really need to take the butter oil, too?

I have very few mom friends, and the ones I did know didn’t seem to share my obsession with feeding our children nutritious meals. While the other moms at playdates were feeding their babies Cheerios and other processed snacks, I was giving Baby Kate liverwurst and raw milk formula. I’d rush home to make a home-cooked meal of roast chicken or pot roast, while the other moms lingered at the park and ordered pizza for dinner.

It was such a relief to have a friend like Kelly. Even though she’s thousands of miles away, she’s always so supportive and caring — and she’s just as obsessive as I am about feeding our kids healthy. She has been eating this way a LOT longer than I have — and she has helped me so much.

Real Food for Rookies

Now it’s your chance to have Kelly as your friend and mentor.

Kelly’s launching her first online class, Real Food for Rookies. If you’re new to real food, or if you’ve been eating this way for a while and need some inspiration, this is your chance to win a 12-week multimedia online class that will teach you everything you need to know to get started on the road to eating real food.

Watch the video:

You’ll Save Time

If only this class had existed three years ago when I found real food. Instead of spending countless hours on the computer searching on Google for answers to my questions, I could have just taken the short cut and learned from Kelly!

Kelly’s online class gives you 24/7 access to a private online forum — so you can get all our questions answered. If you have a question about making chicken broth at midnight, ask away!

You’ll Save Money

Not only will you save time, but you’ll also save money. Do you know how many loaves of bread I made that were inedible? I was also wasting a lot of money shopping at the health food store, when I could have been saving by buying direct from farmers.

Kelly’s also offering, as part of the class, over $60 in coupons for grass-fed meat, cod liver oil, and more from our Real Food Media sponsors. Just by using the coupons, you’ll recoup over half the price of the class!

I was really hoping to take this class, but just cannot afford it right now. I am definitely a rookie and all the class schedule looks great to me, but I would be most excited about the week of “Healthy Snacks and Food-on-the-go” as this is the area where I tend to compromise. Thanks for the chance to win!

Hi there, I’ve been reading your blog for awhile and started taking Iodoral after reading about your thyroid experience. It helped me a LOT: my hair stopped falling out and my nails are much improved, plus my energy is better. Last April, I was in the hospital for three weeks with strep pneumonia, almost died. My goal is vibrant health now… I’ve always been healthy, never sick, not even a sniffle, I’m 54… this was a huge wake-up call.

Although new to WAPF and traditional foods, everything about it resonates with me. And I love butter, lol! Looking forward to being educated on every single aspect of it. Particularly interested, since it was mentioned on the real food for rookies page, any and all info on labels and what the heck is that stuff in my food!

We just moved from Costa Rica to the states, will settle in either KY or TX and will find a WAPF chapter near us immediately! My new blog will be http://www.fiftytolife.com (don’t go there yet, nothing there…)

Thank you for your inspiration. I found you via GNOWFLINS, another fave! Pura vida,
Sally

So many reasons to want to take this course. I have literally read Nourishing Traditions cover to cover.
I have fibromyalgia and as a single mom, just finding energy to keep up with my son can be a challenge (I homeschool him, too). Some nights, getting dinner on the table is overwhelming. My son is big on breakfasts and I’m desperately in need of new breakfast ideas. Eggs every day might cut it for me, but he’s getting bored.
Oh, I also have ADD and my son shows definite signs of it as well. Balancing our diets better would go a long way towards alleviating the symptoms of the ADD as well.

We are on a journey to learn how to find, prepare, and eat real, whole, natural, good-for-you foods. I think this course would be an immeasurable help for me.

Hi! I already “like” you on Facebook, but I would really love to be able to take the class. I can’t afford it right now, but if I were to win, I would love to learn how to make more real food and cut out the boxed and prepackaged stuff we too often eat now. Both of my parents have type 2 diabetes, and I am well on my way too. I know I need to fix this NOW but golly, I sure struggle knowing what to do and how to do it.

Cheers!
Melissa
