Yes they count as long as you are on the list!
I would LOVE to win this e-book! I am pregnant with #4 and I really need some fresh, new WAPF food ideas for myself and all my little ones.
Really REALLY hoping to win this one. Hoping for my first pregnancy soon!
Very excited to read this book!! I just delivered my third baby in February, but he was my first baby since switching our diet to whole, nourishing foods. He was born premature at 31 weeks due to placenta abruptio, so he spent three weeks in the special care nursery. He amazed the docs by not needing any oxygen & by growing & gaining weight better than other preemies they had cared for. My breast milk was a beautiful yellow with a thick layer of fat on top, until I started rooming in at the hospital for his last week in order to wean him off the feeding tube. While in the hospital for his last week, I was given two hospital meals each day. I usually went home for lunch so I could see my husband & other two children, so I ate as much nourishing food during that meal as possible, drank 8-12 oz of fresh raw milk, plus & cup of green tea with coconut oil added in. Still by the end of the week, my breastmilk had changed from looking like fabulous whole milk full of nourishing fats & nutrients to watered down skim milk. I kept praying for my baby to still gain weight adequately so that I could get him out of the hospital and take him home as soon as possible. They recommended that I add formula to my breastmilk twice a day in order to help him gain weight & “for bone mineralization”. Needless to say that stopped within the first week of leaving the hospital. I discussed it with our pediatrician, and he was very encouraging. He said as long as he was gaining 20-30 grams each day, I could breastfeed exclusively. I’m happy to say he shocked our pediatrician by gaining 35-40 grams per day. He’s now 5 months old, rolling over, babbling away, smiling happily at just about anyone who pays him even the slightest attention, and still shocking our sweet pediatrician by his weight gain and development. Every time we go in he still exclaims, “And your only giving him breastmilk?!?” :O) At our last visit he said we could start rice cereal, and I told him I’d like to skip that, keep breastfeeding, and start some whole foods when he’s 6 months adjusted age. I expected a lecture, but he shared about some of the newer research on food allergies & when to introduce foods, and he said that would be fine to wait & it would especially be fine to breastfeed him exclusively as long as possible. :O) Very thankful for a pediatrician who is willing to work with me, and who is pleasantly surprised by the amazing power of nourishing food. Now that I’ve learned what foods are great for me to eat, I want to learn what foods would be great for my sweet new baby to eat and when to start introducing them. Thanks for sharing about this!
Done! Hoping….
