Even though it’s officially fall, it’s still warm enough here in LA to have a lemonade stand.
Every kid should have a lemonade stand. At five years old, this was Kate’s first.

Her friends from across the street came over to help.

Here they are putting up the signs. I was so proud of them. They did everything!
Except the actual making of the lemonade. I helped them with that. We used organic lemons, organic strawberries (from our CSA box), filtered water, and liquid stevia.

Don’t you just love the “Plus Pink”? And the umbrella?
Makes you feel like you’re lying in a hammock in the Caribbean, eh?

Our VP of Sales

What a great salesperson! He went after every lead.

Even our mail lady.
And yes, she bought some lemonade. How could she not? The cuteness was overwhelming.

Our neighbor, Otto, also bought some.

That’s Doris, our Director of Operations at Village Green Network, buying some lemonade.

All in all, it was a smashing success. They made almost $4.00 and pocketed over $1 each.
There’s nothing as inspiring as budding entrepreneurs.

I agree that every kid should have a lemonade stand! My daughter (age 6) did one for the first time this summer, but we didn’t know that it was not something people do here in the UK! It ended up being more of a social experiment, but it was a great experience for both of us. I smiled as I saw your daughter’s sign, because mine drew an almost identical glass of lemonade, complete with bendy straw. Cute! Also, I would have felt like I hit the jackpot if I came across your sugar-free version of strawberry lemonade!
Here is a post about our lemonade experience: http://and-here-we-are.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/a-lemonade-stand-brining-bit-of.html

Actually Kate did not make the sign, her friend Cassie from across the street did. She is a really good marketer!
Just great! Love it!
Yum! Do you ship?
Love it! They did a great job.
So cute!!! I love that it is healthy too.
Tell Kate I’m so excited for her first business venture! I’ll bet her lemonade is as wonderful as her pedicures are.
