Have you heard about the farm raids happening across our nation? Small farms and real food co-ops are being raided by the FDA, guns drawn, with alarming frequency.
When farms get raided, their merchandise is usually confiscated, and they are often forced to close their doors for a period of time. Many farms end up going out of business.
Watch this trailer from the upcoming movie Farmageddon:
Save Our Dairy Farms — Donate NOW!
Last month, two small dairy farms were raided — Morningland Dairy and Estrella Family Creamery. Read more about the raids here.
I gave $100 each to these dairies. Why? Because I believe in grass-fed dairy. Because I believe in small family farms. And I want them to stay in business.
I also believe in the power of organizing people toward a common cause. We can do this — but only if we join forces and work together.
If you’re angry at what’s happening to our small farms, I am asking you to do THREE things:
1. Donate! NOW!
Click the buttons below and donate what you can — even $5! I donated $100 to each farm but if you can’t afford that, do whatever you can.
Donate to Morningland Dairy
Donate to Estrella Family Creamery
2. Sign up for our Farm Raid Fund email updates:
Pledge to give at least $5 whenever there is a farm raid in the future.
Just enter your name and email address below to sign up for our email list. (You can also sign up here.) We will send an email out every time a farm gets raided so you can pledge $5 (or more) to save the farm from going under.
(Please note: we will ONLY use this email alert when a farm needs help due to a raid. We will not share or sell your email addresses — ever! You can opt out at any time.)
3. Spread the word!
Go post about this on blogs, Twitter and Facebook and ask folks to: (1) donate to the farms (2) sign up for the Farm Raid Fund for future raids (3) spread the word.
Grab the widgets from the Pledgie site and post them on your blog or website.
Do what you can to get the word out. It’s great to donate, and to volunteer to donate in the future, but we NEED to let people know what is happening to these farms.
Don’t Wait — Act Now!
Three easy steps. One, two three. Do it, and ask your friends to do it. Shout it from the rooftops on Twitter, Facebook, and blogs. Let these farmers know how much we truly cherish them and that we WILL fight for them.
The future is in our hands, my friends. Let’s show these farmers how much we truly care about them and pony up!
Most of us can find $5 or $10 to send. But what if you really don’t have any money? Then run your mouth, send emails, post on Facebook — and not just ONCE — do it again and again until these farms are saved.
If we do nothing, we have no reason to complain that we can’t get raw milk in our state or that “organic is too expensive”. The truth is, consumers have all the power. Let’s show them our strength by banding together.
Enough terrorizing farmers and their families. Enough restricting our access to quality food.
Enough!

I have also done a post on this subject, entitled, Protect Family Farms! Save Food Freedom!.
The FDA and other government agencies have declared war on farmers producing raw cheese and raw milk, and are driving them out of business even though no one has been harmed. These unjust raids must stop!
Stanley, it’s a great post. I will link to it above. Hugs!
I shared on facebook and will blog after when I have more than a couple minutes to sit down. Raw milk is illegal period in my country (milk also isn’t subsidized so it’s fairly expensive even for “conventional”) but I think no matter where we live we should have the choice of what we want to eat. I hate that they will legalize crap food and allow imports of foods I consider dangerous from other countries (made in China, anyone?) but food straight from nature is treated like a terror threat. I guess it threatens the dependency they want people to have on their subsidized junk.
It amazes me that these large corporations are using agencies paid for by our tax dollars to hurt these small family businesses.
Does Obama know about this? Someone should let him know!
Thank you, Carla!!
I have been tweeting and Facebooking all kinds of things: S. 510 Food Safety Bill, donating to the small farms and dairies, rising up with our consumer power! Nice post, Ann Marie
Thank you, K – I have seen you FBing up a storm!!!
Hi Ann marie,
Thank you so much for posting this, and providing little widgets to help support both dairy farms. People need to hear what is truly going on with our small farmers. This situation concerns everyone! No human being can ever thrive on man-made, adulterated food. Without our small farmers, America does not exist! Without our small farmers, life for human beings does not exist!
Thank you,
Erica
I also posted about this yesterday. It’s called “Save A Family Farm in 10 Minutes.”
It only takes 10 minutes to donate some money to these farms & join the RFM Farm Raid mailing list. Hopefully people will do it!
