Chicken nuggets: quite possibly the all-time favorite meal among kids in America. I don’t know anyone under 10 who doesn’t love chicken nuggets. The problem with most chicken nuggets is they are full of junk like MSG, trans fats, and petrochemicals. And of course the chicken is usually from battery chickens from factory farms, which are pumped full of hormones and antibiotics and fed genetically modified corn and soybeans. Here’s an easy, healthy recipe for homemade chicken nuggets that children will love.

It’s cold and flu season. If you feel something coming on, it’s best not to run out and buy something that will suppress the symptoms. Getting sick is the body’s way of “housecleaning”. In other words, your body is attempting to rid itself of the accumulated toxins.
What you want to do is support [...]

Sometimes people ask me what supplements we take. I’m a firm believer in getting nutrition from food. However, we don’t always eat perfectly and we are still recovering from years of eating SAD (Standard American Diet).
Also, Kate’s a growing girl and I’m planning to get pregnant again soon (in the next year I think). [...]

Just got back from our Saturday morning visit to the farmer’s market and I’m thinking about what I’m going to cook this week.
Rocky Canyon had beef tongue, which I plan to use for tacos. I also got a dozen oysters and five pounds of mussels for dinner tonight. I bought a duck to roast on [...]

This is a meal I highly recommend. Seth and I both loved it.
It’s not super quick to prepare (you have to chop various things, although the food processor does help some) but it’s very nutritious and not expensive to make since you’re using canned salmon, which is cheaper than fresh or frozen salmon.
Just be sure [...]

I’ve been making a lot of smoothies lately. It’s such an easy and quick way to provide nourishment. I especially like them because they make it so easy to take coconut oil. If you’re not doing dairy, just use coconut milk. I’ve been making these for Seth and he LOVES them!
They also make a great [...]

Tonight we ate:
Rocky Canyon Bratwurst with Dijon Mustard
Homemade Lacto-Fermented Sauerkraut
Kale Sauteed in Chicken Fat and Butter
Chicken Broth
For lunch Seth had some sliced turkey breast and avocado. He was still hungry after that (not enough fat, I told him), so I offered to make him a smoothie.
The man who said he hated coconut oil willingly and [...]

Just got back from the farmer’s market.
Here are the meals I’m going to make this week (not in any particular order, although I know we are doing ribs tonight and brisket tomorrow night):
BBQ Pork Spare Ribs with Beet Greens sauteed in chicken fat, tomato and cucumber salad — and broth
Brisket with Sauerkraut and some vegetables [...]

Note: You may want to skip this post if talk about poop bothers you. I’m not going to get graphic, but stools are discussed.
This is our fifth day on the GAPS diet. So far, it hasn’t been too bad. And some amazing things are happening!
