Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying your leftover turkey and stuffing. I didn’t cook this year. We just got back from Tom Colicchio’s (of Top Chef fame) Craft, (winner of the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002). It was perfect. Loved the decor, loved the food, loved the conversation. And Kate was a perfect angel (despite this funny photo). But most of all, I loved not having to cook.
Tomorrow I’m continuing the theme. Not planning on doing anything. Of course, I never go shopping on Black Friday anyway. I’m not a big fan of shopping and I really hate crowds! I’d much rather stay home and read a book or take a walk.
If you’re like me, and you’d rather stay home than fight the crowds, you don’t have to feel like you’re missing out on the all the savings. Because I’m hosting another awesome giveaway. I’m super excited about this one in particular. I’m giving away the best mop EVER!

I love to make my own homemade laundry detergent. Homemade laundry detergent costs 2-3 cents per load, versus 15-30 cents per load for storebought detergents.
It’s good for the earth too, since all the ingredients are natural and you’re not buying plastic containers of laundry detergent. All the ingredients come in cardboard, which is biodegradable.
I usually triple or quadruple this recipe so I can make a bunch at once and have it for months. It’s a fun weekend project to do with kids.

Check out this ingenious new form of environmental activism going on in San Francisco: Carrotmob! Watch both of the videos — I’m floored at how smart this idea is. Don’t you just love it?! Just brilliant! It’s based on the idea of a flash mob: A flash mob is a large group of people who [...]

It’s cold and flu season. If you feel something coming on, it’s best not to run out and buy something that will suppress the symptoms. Getting sick is the body’s way of “housecleaning”. In other words, your body is attempting to rid itself of the accumulated toxins. What you want to do is support the [...]

This is pretty impressive. Two weeks ago, Crunchy Domestic Goddess blogged about an offensive online ad for Motrin which made fun of babywearers. She went beyond blogging: she tweeted about it on Twitter.com, emailed the VP of marketing, and she advised her readers to blog, tweet and email as well. And she threatened to boycott, [...]
