We Americans love our deviled eggs. They are the perfect compliment to summertime foods like hamburgers or hot dogs, baked beans and potato salad. Pastured egg yolks are rich in vitamin K2, which helps to prevent heart disease and build strong bones and teeth. I’ve added salmon roe (fish eggs) to these deviled eggs to boost the vitamin K2. Fish eggs are also rich in K2, and are a sacred food in many traditional cultures, reserved for parents prior to conception, pregnant and nursing women and children.

We eat eggs or oatmeal most mornings, but sometimes it’s nice to have something baked. I especially love warm sweet banana bread with my coffee.
Unfortunately, banana bread recipes are not very healthy. White flour isn’t good for you due to the phytic acid which blocks mineral absorption. Not only that, but refined white flour has almost no nutrition. To make a truly healthy banana bread, I recommend using sprouted flour…

If you read my blog regularly, you know I love eggs. We typically go through about 3-4 dozen eggs per week. Our little family consisting of 2 adults and one toddler. Eggs are one of the most economical ways to increase the nutrients in your family’s diet. Eggs are full of vitamin D, vitamin A, vitamin E, omega 3 fatty acids, beta carotene, cholesterol (which is good for you), and saturated fat (also good for you). Why Pastured Eggs? I don’t just buy any eggs. I only buy pastured eggs from local farmers who keep their chickens outdoors and let them roam around in the sun, eating bugs.

When I was in my twenties, I spent two years on a wheat free diet (I also avoided all sugar and took therapeutic-grade probiotics). I was recovering from candida overgrowth which was caused by the large amounts of antibiotics I was given during my childhood, and a diet full of white flour and sugar.
My two-year gluten-free sugar-free diet was worth it. I completely reversed my rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue, and respiratory allergies. I went from having constant colds and being sick all the time with sinus infections to being vibrantly healthy again. The chronic joint pain and physical exhaustion had vanished.

A recent study in England reveals that organic food is a lot healthier than conventional food:
The Quality Low Input Food project, the biggest of its kind, took a 725-acre farm in north-east England, grew conventional produce (like cabbage, lettuce, potatoes and what) next to organic produce, and compared the results.
The biggest contrast was found for [...]

How did it get to be almost 10 pm already? I was going to go to bed early! ARGH.
Oh well, I’ll go now.
But before I do, I’m going to try Alla’s Russian remedy:
Sitting with a towel over my head to soak in the steam from a pot of boiling potatoes and herbs.
I’m supposed to sit [...]

Dr. George Heard was a dentist in the early part of the 20th century who first practiced in Alabama, where he had a majority of patients with tooth decay that required fillings and extractions — ultimately resulting in false teeth. He later moved to a small town in Texas where he was stunned to find [...]

This is a great post about egg packaging:
Open Letter to Trader Joe’s
I agree! That is very fraudulent packaging. I used to feel so good buying my “free range” eggs at TJ's. Felt like I was doing something good. Little did I know I was being had.
I think it would be cool to make a t-shirt [...]

I'm so excited! I was able to get a real, 100% organic, pastured turkey that was not fed soy. Woo hoo!
I had put a turkey on order at Whole Foods — but I wasn't really happy about the decision. While it was organic, it was probably fed soy as almost all turkeys are — because [...]

I'm exhausted! I just had an 11 1/2 hour day. Kate woke up at 5:30. I tried to put her back down but she didn't want to go back to bed so I just stayed up with her.
Which was, of course, very fun. Kate is very very fun. She plays in her exersaucer or with [...]
