I know people are going to complain when they see the photo of the pig’s head. The last time I posted a photo of offal (I believe it was the cow tongue), I got a lot of complaints.
I think we have become too sanitized and sheltered in America. Pigs have heads. Cows have tongues. And they are meant to be eaten.

It’s been over a month now since I’ve had a cup of coffee — and I haven’t had a single craving. Moreover, I’m feeling happier, with more energy, and the quality of my sleep has vastly improved. Best of all, I don’t need coffee anymore. This is nothing short of a miracle for me. I’m the biggest coffee addict who ever lived! I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 16 years old. We just got back from our Christmas trip to visit family in Texas. I had the most interesting talk with the woman sitting next to me on the plane. I feel compelled to share it with you all.
I love talking to immigrants from so-called “developing countries”. I can spend hours talking with them. Why? Because I want to know how they did things in their country, how they ate, how they cooked, what their family’s health was like.

Every time I post about foie gras, I get hate mail. Get ready to comment, because here we go again.
Foie gras is one of the most delicious foods on the planet. Not only that, it’s one of the most nutrient-dense foods, full of fat soluble activators including vitamins A, D, E, and K that protect us from all manner of degenerative disease. It’s also a very traditional food that has been around for thousands of years (can you say Egyptians?).

BBQ sauce is kind of like bacon. Everything tastes better when you add it. But have you looked at the ingredients on a bottle of storebought BBQ sauce lately? High fructose corn syrup is usually the first or second ingredient listed.
Turns out it’s really easy to make barbecue sauce at home. It only takes a few minutes to whip up a batch. You can use it for all kinds of things — from BBQ ribs, BBQ shrimp or sausage, pulled pork sandwiches to BBQ chicken pizza.
