Ahhh… the Algarve was so relaxing and so beautiful.
We had no cares, no worries. No email, no utility bills or traffic tickets.
Just sunny skies, infinite stretches of blue ocean, and lots of good food and wine.
The paleo diet is the hottest fad diet since vegetarianism.
If you’re not familiar with the movement, paleo folks eat a “paleolithic” or “caveman” diet of meat, more meat, and pretty much anything they can forage (berries, nuts and so forth). The only foods that are allowed are ones that were available prior to the dawn of agriculture 10,000 years ago.
Our first night in Lisbon, we were exhausted from jet lag. We checked into the Sheraton (paid with points — thank you Starwood AMEX) and booked a dinner reservation with the concierge.
We had a drink and a snack in the lobby, then went upstairs and immediately took a long nap. I woke up in a black fog, the concierge on the phone, telling me we had to leave in 30 minutes for dinner.
Father’s Day is less than a week away! Are you ready? I’m writing this post because I’m sitting here thinking about what to get my husband for Father’s Day.
As I write this, Seth just called from the grocery store (he took our daughter with him) and asked, “Do the potatoes have to be organic?” How much do we love getting calls like that? (The answer was no, by the way. I said, If they don’t have organic, just get whatever they have.)
If you’re searching for the perfect summer side dish, look no further! This Quinoa Salad is tasty and simple to make.
It’s a great thing to bring to a picnic or BBQ; it pairs well with meat or seafood. I like it with rack of lamb or lamb chops, steak, roast chicken, pork ribs, or grilled salmon or shrimp.
And yes, it’s gluten-free!
We got home from vacation last Thursday night. I had a whole bunch of posts scheduled for the three weeks of May that I would be gone.
Unfortunately, my RSS feed broke a few days after I flew to Portugal. And I had no idea. I was trying to be good so I was not checking my feed or doing any work.
The result: there have been no Feedburner emails going out for 26 days! That’s what I get for trying to go on vacation, huh?
I spent over six hours yesterday and this morning trying to fix the RSS feed. Yeah, fun times! The good news is I finally fixed it (yay me! I win the nerd prize this week).
Here are some posts you might have missed…
I knew I needed a vacation. Bad. My husband, Seth needed one, too. He had been driving back and forth from Vegas to LA to teach his class at USC — on a weekly basis. That’s 8-10 hours of driving per week. Oy vey, too much!
Then, out of the blue, Seth got booked to speak in Amsterdam in May. That was all we needed. We got online, booked the flights, and we were all ready to hit the road.
