Join the FitBit Challenge — $500 in Prizes

Join the FitBit Challenge!

Are you ready for the 1st Annual FitBit challenge? I've had such great results with my FitBit, I want to get you all inspired to get in shape and lose weight like I'm doing. And I'm giving away $500 in prizes!

Check Out My Results with the FitBit

I've lost a total of 17 pounds in the past 2 months, using my FitBit to walk 10,000 steps per day every day.

I've also lost 13% body fat in 2 months.

And here are my measurements…

BUST – 39
WAIST – 32
HIPS – 42.75
UPPER ARM – 12.5

BUST – 37
WAIST – 30.5
HIPS – 41

Total inches lost in 2 months: 2 inches in the bust, 1.5 inches in the waist, 1.75 in the hips, 1.25 in the upper thigh, and 1/2 inch in the upper arm.

Amazing, right?

And all I do is walk 10,000 steps a day, every day, and I watch what I eat. FitBit has a function where you can log what you eat and make sure you stay under a certain number of calories. I eat real food (whatever I want) and I eat to satiety. I have not felt deprived in the slightest.

I've been trying to do the kettlebell as well, but I'm having the hardest time getting motivated with that. I haven't managed to get it into my routine yet, so I've only done a handful of workouts.

You can read more about exactly what I did in this post: How I Lost 10 Pounds in One Month with My FitBit

Get Your FitBit On!

So are you ready to join me and get in shape?

We can all help each other get in shape by doing this TOGETHER. All you have to do is join the FitBit Challenge!

Oh and did I mention the PRIZES? I'm giving away $500 in prizes to the winners.

Four participants will win the following prizes (one prize per person):

Grand Prize: $175 Amazon Gift Certificate for anything you want. Maybe it's that skinny pair of designer jeans you are GOING to fit into — or how about some Vibram Fivefingers or an iPod Touch to load your tunes on? Whatever you decide to get, make sure it is something that is a special treat that you love and makes you feel happy. Retail value $175
Second Prize: 12 months of Audible membership – I LOVE my Audible membership! You can listen to audiobooks while you do your steps. Get a new audiobook every month. Retail value $150
First Prize: FitBit Aria Scale – This scale is awesome! It automatically syncs with your FitBit dashboard, so all you have to do is step on in the morning and you'll be able to track your weight loss progress. What I really love about it is it tracks your fat percentage. Seeing what you weigh can be discouraging from day to day, because there are ups and downs. Also, muscle weighs more than fat. But when you're building muscle, the Aria scale will show you that you are actually losing fat even if you aren't losing weight from day to day. Retail value $129.95
Third Prize: 3 months of Audible membership – You'll never get tired of doing your steps when you have good books to listen to. Retail value $45

The year after I started the blog, I founded a blog network in the health & wellness space called Village Green Network. 1. I’m already on your email list…excited about the motivation. I just bought the Fitbit Flex & I’m enjoying it. My daughters think it’s pretty cool too. 🙂

  2. Already a subscriber and I jut got a fitbit – I LOVE this thing. I just decided last night that I was going to commit to walking 10,000 steps a day (I’ve been doing it almost every day since I got it), so this is perfect!

  3. I’m interested in getting something like this, but I do have a question…does it emit radiation like a cellphone? As I understand it, the fitbit flex syncs wirelessly, but the jawbone up does not, so I am leaning toward the jawbone. I’m interested in the sleep features as well. I don’t know a lot about these issues, but I do try to turn my iphone off at night and place my ipad on airplane mode when I’m not using it, so that I’m not constantly exposed to the radiation. Would love any feedback.

    1. Claire, I wouldn’t worry too much about the wifi. The big issue with cell phones is the radio signals used to communicate with tower (not wifi, though I don’t think it’s been studied). Those signals have been shown to kill sperm in vitro at distances of about a foot, so this is a big issue for guys who carry their cell phones in their pants pocket (although women might not want to risk carrying their phones on their person, either. I bet a purse would be fine.). The fitbit wouldn’t constantly be comminicating with your computer while you walk around, like a cell phone does with the tower. If you still have concerns, you could just get a pedometer without wifi.

  4. I am already a subscriber. I just bought a FitBit a few weeks ago so the timing of your contest is perfect for me! I am looking forward to the extra motivation to keep on stepping!

  5. I’m already on your mailing list. I won my Fit Bit from your Kettle Bell 2013 Challenge. I have lost more weight since then, but have slacked off a bit due to a knee injury. My knee is feeling stronger and my PT will be finished by the end of the month. I am definitely up for the challenge.

  6. What an awesome form of motivation! Thanks for this opportunity. AND I’m already a subscriber 🙂

  7. I forgot to mention, that YES, I did sign up for your newsletter! And I have my Fitbit and we are ready to go! 😉

  8. For the people who are doing fitbit, you know how they have the option to find “friends” and race them in steps each day. I think that would be really motivating. Is there a way to do that with the people in the challenge who are signed up for fitbit?

  9. I’m already a subscriber. My fitbit came in the mail yesterday and I got it set up and started wearing it today! Glad for the motivation!

  10. Subscribed and want to sign up for the challenge. Can we send pics by Monday pretty please? Busy camping this weekend.

  11. Subscribed and ready to go! I’ve had my FitBit forever and this is just the push I need to start using it more.

  12. I’ve been enjoying your emails for some time now. I’m finishing up RARRFing and am getting ready to start the family on gaps. I did gaps on my own and didn’t get enough carbs and calories. So I think this challenge will help to ensure I am eating enough to keep up my metabolism. I’m looking forward to it! One question: Does working out with weights count toward the total daily steps?

  13. I am already subscribed and I bought the fitbit on your recommendation. Hoping to getting a bit smaller this summer!

  14. already on your email list. Had my fitbit for 2 months but haven’t used it! I need this challenge to get me going.

  15. I am really excited about the contest! I rec’d my Fitbit a few days ago and have been having fun with it. I was really surprised how few steps a day I took compared to what I thought I took! I work at a desk all day in an office and if I do not exercise I am about 3,000 – 3,500 steps a day. I am already a subscriber to your newsletters. Can’t wait to hear about everyone’s results and experiences. .

  16. I broke my foot and gained a lot of weight due to 11 weeks of not being allowed to put weight on foot. I won’t be able to do 10K daily steps because I am still recovering, but I take the challenge to do as much as I can to try to lose this excess weight.

  17. Just signed up! I bought a fitbit about 3 weeks ago and love it so far. Look forward to challenging myself with this!

  18. I LOST my fitbit yesterday!!! I ordered the FLEX but it could be 4-6 weeks!!! I am SOOOOOOO bummed!!

  19. Already a subscriber & just got my FitBit one last week! My husband and I are having a blast trying to out-step each other every day : )

  20. I’m already a subscriber. I got my fitbit a few weeks ago and it confirmed my suspicions that since changing jobs a few months ago, I am way less active than I used to be. Looking forward to a way to challenge myself!

  21. hi there– i am already a subscriber of your email list… i have owned fitbit for a couple of months now. i love it… as another reader stated, i simply had no idea how inactive i was. i also have it linked with myfitnesspal (where i log my food).

however, i haven’t had the success you have enjoyed… only 4 pounds down since mid-MAY… BUT, i have lost inches, no doubt (unfortch i didn’t right them down before i started). i have upped by steps to 15K per week, so that is will be my minimum for this challenge.

guess i better go find a tape measure!! 🙂
